Price = cost × (1 + markup). The same price expressed as margin (of the selling price) is always lower — markup 100% equals margin 50%, a conversion retail teams constantly need. The Profit Margin tool runs the reverse direction.

How to use the Markup tool

  1. Enter your markup calculator in the fields above.
  2. Adjust any slider or type an exact number — the answer updates as you go.
  3. Copy the result and close the tab. Nothing you entered was sent anywhere.

About the Markup tool

Enter cost and a markup-on-cost percentage to get the selling price, profit per unit, and the margin percentage the same price represents.

This is the reverse of the profit margin direction: a 100% markup is the same price as a 50% margin, and the equivalent-margin readout does that translation for you.
