Hash Verifier

Check text against an expected SHA hash — the valid “reverse” of hashing.

Hashes are one-way by design — nothing can turn a SHA digest back into the original text. What you can do is the reverse check: take text you believe produced a hash and see whether it matches. That’s exactly what this tool does.

Expected hash length

Matching is case-insensitive and shows a green Match verdict — or a red Mismatch. A mismatch means the text differs; there is no way to recover the original from the digest.

How to use the Hash Verifier tool

  1. Enter your hash check in the fields above.
  2. Adjust any slider or type an exact number — the answer updates as you go.
  3. Copy the result and close the tab. Nothing you entered was sent anywhere.

About the Hash Verifier tool

A hash cannot be converted back to text — that is the whole point of hashing. What you can do is the legitimate reverse direction: hash your own text and see whether it matches a hash you already have. This tool does exactly that, with a clear MATCH or Mismatch verdict.

Concrete uses: confirm a downloaded checksum, check whether a stored password-hash matches an entered password (before migrating your app), or verify that a pasted digest really came from a text in your hands.

Everything runs locally in your browser: no data is uploaded, no account is needed, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
