Identify the hash algorithm and bit length from any digest, so you know exactly what you are looking at.
Cryptographic hashes are one-way by design — no algorithm reverses them. This tool identifies a hash: which algorithm produced it, how long it is, and what it is (or is not) good for. It does not and cannot recover the original text.

Why a hash cannot be turned back into text
Hashing collapses an input of any size into a fixed number of bits. Many different inputs share one digest, so the original is not encoded in the output at all. Reversing a SHA-256 digest means searching a space of 2256 candidates — infeasible by design.
What to use instead
Detects the algorithm from the digest length and checks the value is valid hex. Nothing is uploaded.
