Convert bytes, KB, MB, GB, TB — decimal and binary.

Reference (in bytes):

  • 1 Bits (b) = 0.125 bytes
  • 1 Kilobytes (kB, 10³) = 1,000 bytes
  • 1 Megabytes (MB, 10⁶) = 1,000,000 bytes
  • 1 Gigabytes (GB, 10⁹) = 1,000,000,000 bytes
  • 1 Terabytes (TB, 10¹²) = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes
  • 1 Kibibytes (KiB, 2¹⁰) = 1,024 bytes
  • 1 Mebibytes (MiB, 2²⁰) = 1,048,576 bytes
  • 1 Gibibytes (GiB, 2³⁰) = 1,073,741,824 bytes

About the Data Size tool

Storage vendors use decimal units (1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes) while operating systems often report binary units (1 MiB = 1,048,576 bytes). This converter supports both.

A “500 GB” drive shows as roughly 465 GiB in your OS — that gap is exactly the decimal/binary distinction, not missing space.

Everything runs locally in your browser: no data is uploaded, no account is needed, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
